This DVD contains a conversation and two presentations from the Wireless Safety Summit held late last year in Washington, D.C. sponsored by the Center for Safer Wireless. It was a gathering of experts and activists from around the country and had over 50 ‘virtual participants’ on the phone from the U.S. and Canada, Switzerland, Italy, Israel, and South Africa.

Martin Blank, Ph.D. is Associate Professor of Physiology and Cellular Biophysics at Columbia University Medical Center. He presents a powerpoint lecture entitled ‘EMF and DNA’ sharing his groundbreaking research into the mechanisms involved in the biological effects of microwave radiation.

Devra Davis, Ph.D. is an epidemiologist and Executive Director of Environmental Health Trust. (EnvironmentalHealthTrust.org ) She is also the author of the tell-it-like-it-is book Disconnect: The Truth about Cell Phone Radiation, What the Industry Has Done to Hide It, and How to Protect Your Family. In this dynamic presentation she presents the latest developments on cell phone radiation effects on children, infertility and other reproductive issues, and talks about corporate and government efforts to suppress research findings and discredit scientists who are trying to tell the truth about the health effects of electro-magnetic pollution.

BONUS – In a pre-conference conversation, Dr. Davis, Prof. Blank and activist Elizabeth Kelley talk about the urgency of breaking the telecom industry-imposed sound barrier about wireless technology risks.

Many cancers do not have scientifically established “mechanisms”
that explain exactly how they develop, not even from cigarettes, though the
evidence showing the connection between cigarette smoking and lung cancer
is finally accepted.

One of the frequently used assertions from the EMF/RF bio-effects denialist camp
is that there is no known mechanism for electro-magnetic radiation to effect the body
other than by thermal (heating) effects.

Dr. Martin Blank explains some mechanisms that give the lie to that assertion in this presentation.

He points out the tightly-coiled DNA strands (6 feet long!) act as ‘fractal antennas’
that act as receivers for various electro-magnetic frequencies.

This recent NYT article also talks about aspects of the DNA strand that researchers are
just now observing. Scientists have finally figured out that ‘junk DNA’ is actually critically important to us. What was once thought to be junk, is now known to be tiny switches that have a profound impact on the functioning of our bodies.

In the lead-up to the Wireless Safety Summit, sponsored by the Center for Wireless Safety (CenterForWirelessSafety.org) held Oct. 5, 2011 in Washington, D.C., epidemiologist and author Dr. Devra Davis, Columbia University professor Dr. Martin Blank and Libby Kelley, Director of the Electromagnetic Safety Alliance gave a brief preview of the findings and issues that were to be covered in the Summit. This impromptu exchange was recorded while the organizers of the conference were setting up, so please forgive the ambient sounds.
